LILY TOMLIN AND JANE WAGNER – 51 YEARS

Actress-comedian Mary Jean Tomlin has been regarded as one of the faces of comedy since she started her career. She is a stand-up comedian, a Broadway actress, and a film actress and she landed her breakout role when she worked in the variety show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In in the 1970s. She has earned nominations for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. In 1971, Tomlin met writer Jane Wagner.

After a relationship of 51 years, Tomlin and Wagner finally tied the knot at a private ceremony in Los Angeles. The couple also worked together in the 2013 documentary An Apology to Elephants with Wagner as the writer and Tomlin as the narrator. Legendary actress and sketch comedian Tomlin, Comedy Album, and TV series writer Wagner, together they have formed a romantic partner and comedy gold for more than half a century. It has created an irreplaceable classic in American social criticism.
